Sound Baths
Relax the mind, restore the body, realign within
A journey inward, through sound and stillness
Sound Baths offer a space to completely unwind, a soothing blend of sound, vibration, and stillness that invites deep rest and reconnection. During each session, carefully chosen instruments such as gongs and crystal singing bowls create gentle waves of resonance that calm the mind and restore harmony throughout the body.

Each experience is different, yet all share one intention: to help you slow down, breathe deeply, and find peace within.

What is a Sound Bath
At Heilsa Wellbeing, a Sound Bath is an immersive two-hour group experience that invites you to rest deeply, release tension, and reconnect with yourself. Guided by the practitioner, each session blends breathwork, meditation, and sound to create deep relaxation for both body and mind.
Every session begins with gentle grounding and slow breathing to help you arrive fully in the moment. As you settle, layers of tone and vibration unfold through gongs, crystal singing bowls, and more. The sound moves around you in waves, calming the nervous system and encouraging natural balance.
The Sound Bath itself lasts about seventy-five minutes and is followed by a reflective closing period with light refreshments. This slower rhythm allows you to absorb the experience and leave grounded and calm.
The space is prepared with care: aurora-style lighting fills the room with gentle colour, incense brings a soothing scent, and soft mats, blankets, and pillows ensure comfort throughout. Each Sound Bath is unique, shaped by the instruments, the energy of the group, and the flow of the moment.

How Sound Works
Sound is vibration, and every vibration carries energy. Our bodies respond naturally to this movement, from the rhythm of the heartbeat to the steady flow of breath. When you rest within sound, the body begins to resonate with those vibrations, creating a gentle rebalancing effect.

Gongs and singing bowls produce waves of sound that can influence the nervous system, helping it move from alertness into rest and recovery. As this happens, heart rate slows, muscles release, and breathing deepens. The body’s natural healing processes can then take place more easily.
Sound also affects the mind. As you listen, brainwaves shift from active patterns into the slower rhythms linked with meditation and relaxation. This change helps quieten thought, ease emotional tension, and create space for inner stillness.
Each note, vibration, and silence plays a part in helping the body and mind return to balance, gently and naturally.

Your Sound Bath Journey
A few simple ways to prepare, experience, and carry your calm beyond the session.
Before
-
Drink plenty of water in the hours before the session. Sound and vibration travel better through a well hydrated body.
-
Avoid heavy foods for at least two hours. Eat a light meal about an hour before you arrive so hunger or a growling stomach does not distract you.
-
If possible, limit caffeine, sugar, tobacco, and alcohol on the day.
-
Set a simple intention such as relax, reset, let go, or clarity. A gentle focus can deepen your experience.
-
We provide mats, blankets, pillows and eye masks. Bring an extra blanket or pillow if you like additional comfort.

During
-
Lie back and rest. If lying down is uncomfortable, you may sit upright on your mat or bring a chair.
-
Allow the sounds to move around you. If your mind wanders, return to your breath or the feeling of vibration.
-
Eye masks can help you settle. Keep movements slow and quiet to support the group.
-
Let your body absorb what it needs; there’s nothing to do but be present.
-
Each sound has its own rhythm, trust your body’s response and allow stillness to grow.
-
Every session is unique; let go of expectation and allow the experience to unfold naturally.

After
-
Move slowly as you return to awareness. Drink water and notice how you feel.
-
Gentle stretching or journaling can help integrate your experience.
-
Enjoy a calm evening and give yourself time to rest.
-
Sleep may feel deeper than usual; let your body recover naturally.
-
Subtle shifts in mood or energy may arise over the next day; observe without judgement.
-
Take the sense of calm with you; let the stillness echo quietly through your mind, your body and the day.

Continuing Your Practice
-
Regular attendance helps the body relax more easily over time.
-
Many people choose a monthly or fortnightly rhythm.

The journey is ongoing; each session brings new layers of peace, balance, and discovery.

Your First Sound Bath Experience
From the moment you arrive, the space is designed to help you slow down and settle.
Soft lighting, gentle aromas, and the warmth of blankets and pillows create an atmosphere that feels both welcoming and calm. The world outside begins to fade as you step into stillness.
Each Sound Bath begins with quiet grounding, time to find your place, connect with your breath, and release the day. You’ll be invited to lie back, close your eyes, and simply allow the sound to move around and through you. There is nothing to do and nowhere to be; the experience unfolds naturally.
As the session continues, layers of tone and vibration rise and fall like waves. The mind drifts into a meditative state while the body finds deep rest. Some people notice gentle sensations such as warmth, tingling, or soft pulses of energy. Others feel calm awareness or peaceful silence. However it meets you, it’s exactly as it needs to be.

As the final sounds fade, you will be gently guided back to the present moment. Take your time, stretch, breathe, and notice how you feel. Many guests describe a sense of lightness, clarity, or renewed calm that carries into the hours and days that follow.
A Sound Bath is more than a session; it’s a pause, a reset, and a chance to reconnect with yourself in a supportive, nurturing space.
